Did you know that we can provide eligible former workers with in-home healthcare?
If you are considering home healthcare for yourself or for a loved one, take these benefits into consideration! It can make a huge difference in quality of life to have some extra help. Former energy, atomic, and uranium workers often struggle with sicknesses that family members simply don’t know how to provide relief for. In-home healthcare provides:
1. Peace of mind
Knowing that your loved one has someone who can give them personalized care can give massive peace of mind. Carrying the weight of taking care of someone is too much for one person.
2. It is a more comfortable alternative to nursing homes, hospices, and especially hospitals
You don’t need to be chronically ill or even home bound to receive or justify in-home healthcare. Being in the comfort of your own home can ease anxiety and make life easier.
3. Companionship
Sometimes having someone to talk to who can have an understanding of how you feel can make a huge difference.
4. Immediate advice
Having a trained nurse around is beneficial to be able to ask all of your medical questions! Our nurses are very experienced with caring for former workers and can be a great point of contact for confusing medical problems.
5. One-on-one support
You or your loved one can get the appropriate care and attention needed. Doctor’s appointments are very speedy and less personal than a home nurse visit. You should not have to beg to have someone listen to your healthcare needs.
Under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA), which is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC), eligible claimants are entitled to medical benefits to cover the reasonable cost of treatment for accepted medical illnesses.
Medical benefits include those services, appliances, and supplies prescribed or recommended by a qualified physician, which are likely to cure, give relief to, or reduce the degree or the period of the accepted illness. Home health care is one of the many medical benefits you may receive for accepted illnesses under the EEOICPA.
