Living with an illness caused by work related exposure is not something you ever planned for when you were thinking about how you would spend your future. Maybe you are now living outside of the United States and are now suffering from the effects of radiogenic cancer, chronic silicosis, beryllium sensitivity, or chronic beryllium disease. You might have questions about your EEOICPA or RECA eligibility or coverage. If you meet certain stipulations from the United States Department of Labor, you could receive free EEOCIPA and RECA home health care. If you are wondering about your eligibility, United Energy Workers HealthCare and Four Corners Health Care is here to help. It is our mission to provide superior health care to the deserving subcontractors, contractors and employees of the Department of Energy.
How can you be Eligible?
Where you are currently living when you or your loved one begins to develop the symptoms associated with an occupation disease, is not as important as where you once worked. You see, in order for you to claim eligibility for EEOICPA/RECA benefits, you have to meet specific criteria established by the United States Department of Labor. In order to receive benefits, you need to have been employed at a covered Department of Energy facility, an approved atomic weapons facility, or at a permitted beryllium vendor. Not only are direct employees covered, but contractors and subcontractors working for the Department of Energy can also be beneficiaries.
Another stipulation is that you must have one of the covered conditions that are associated exposure to radiation, beryllium, or silica. Once again, you exposure will have to result from your employment at accepted facility. You can qualify for RECA benefits if you mined, milled or transported uranium and developed an illness as a result of exposure to toxic substances (such as radiation, chemicals, solvents, acids, and metals). Your exposure will need to have come while working at a facility covered under the RECA requirements established by the Department of Labor. Your eligibility may also be linked to specific locations where the work was performed.
What can you expect to Receive?
Depending on the type of benefit for which you qualify, you can receive a monetary payment. If your loved ones have passed away, you can still receive survivor benefits. You might even be able to obtain payments for being unable to work. The best news is that your medical expenses, including in home healthcare, is not part of the EEOICPA/RECA total payment cap. As long as you keep your home healthcare status approved by the Department of Labor, you will be able to receive superior home healthcare services from United Energy Workers HealthCare and Four Corners Health Care.
Caring for your suffering loved ones can be stressful. As you dedicate more and more time to their needs, you might begin to worry about your own employment. Our home services can help to alleviate your stress and worry. We provide help with light chores, meal preparation, transportation, and in home medical services.
